Hermes Panagiotopoulos

Hermes Panagiotopoulos has been appointed as a researcher at the EILST specialized in the fields of climate change and waste management plants.

Hermes holds a BSc degree in Agriculture Engineering and Irrigation Systems from the Highest Educational Institute of Mesolonghi, Greece. Furthermore, he has a MSc degree in Environmental Sciences, which took place in Wageningen University and Research Center, in the Netherlands, as well as an MA in International Politics from CERIS (Centre Européen de Recherches Internationales et Stratégiques) in Brussels, Belgium.

He has worked, as a trainee, in environmental NGOs in Brussels, such as the European Environmental Bureau and BirdLife International. Currently, he is serving in the Greek military land force, in which he was pretty active as far as environmental awareness is concerned by giving several environmental lectures to the sum of approximately 4500 civil and military personnel.

He speaks Greek, English and French.
